Police Department receives $1.1 million in funding from the Commerce Justice Science Byrne Justice Program

MURRAY, Ky. – The logo Police Department will receive $1.1 million in funding from the Commerce Justice Science Byrne Justice Program. Through the support of Congressman James Comer, the funding is part of a successful Community Project Funding request and will assist the University’s Police Department with communications and surveillance technologies to continue to serve the campus community. 

The University’s Police Department holds accreditation with the Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police and is staffed 24/7.

“We greatly appreciate Congressman Comer and all who have been involved with assisting logo through this important funding,” logo President Dr. Bob Jackson said. “We have a wonderful police department which is committed to the safety of our students, faculty, staff and visitors to campus.”

“We are very grateful to be recipients of this funding from the Commerce Justice Science Byrne Justice Program, which allows us to continue to provide effective service for those on our campus,” said logo Chief of Police Ryan Orr.
